Nearly 60 teachers from schools in the GIRESD region participated last summer in 2 days of Teacher Leader professional learning on the Danielson Educator Evaluation Rubric. Each participating teacher received a one-year license to Teachscape Focus for Teachers; a web-based tool that provides professional learning for teachers on understanding and applying the Danielson Framework for Teaching.
During the two day workshop, teachers worked together to develop a deeper understanding of the 4 domains in the Framework and to watch videos that illustrated each component in the observable domains (Domain 2 and 3) in order to gain a deeper understanding of the difference between the levels in each rubric in the Framework. Teachers returned to their districts equipped to help their colleagues navigate Teachscape Focus for Teachers and/or work with grade level or department colleagues to review the videos and develop a common understanding of the Framework for Teaching rubrics.
