On Saturday September 27th, an Unplug and Play event was hosted at Island Park in Mt. Pleasant. It was a beautiful day for families to be outside and enjoy some activities. Families were able to participate in a scavenger hunt (through GOOSECHASE APP) around Mt. Pleasant where they played activities/games and had an opportunity to win some great prizes.

GIRESD PE and Health Consultant, Josh Boutwell hosted a table and had a Putt-Putt Golf station for the scavenger hunt at the event. Families attempted to putt 3 balls at a target to see how many points that they can get at the end of the three putts. Families also walked away with jump ropes, a nutritious snack recipe book, InPACT at Home Resource guide, and the Importance of Physical Activity resource sheet.

REMC 5 is hosting an Educational Technology Retreat in a few weeks. These sessions are being offered in two locations, and are free to REMC 5 districts. Participants can choose either location, regardless of which ISD they are from.

These sessions will be targeted toward teachers, but instructional coaches, administrators, and media center staff will find it useful as well!

This will also be an opportunity to try out some of the new items in the REMC 5 Lending Library. REMC 5 will also be giving away some of the items in the library that are being "retired" after years of faithful service.
