May is Mental Health Awareness Month . . . Positive emotions don't just feel good — they're good for you. Research shows that people feel and do their best when they experience at least three times as many positive emotions as negative ones. Increase you positive emotions by trying these tips:
~ Name and notice any positive emotions that you feel during the day
~ At the end of each day, find at least 3 good things that happened to you
~ Pick a positive emotion and make it stronger
~ Practice gratitude every day
~ Gather reminders of good experiences

On May 8th at the Devos Place in Grand Rapids, the Great Lakes Homeland Security Conference offered a School Track day for school officials to learn more on school safety topics. The topics included: Molly Hudgens of Sycamore Middle School telling her story of averting a school attack, the Stop Trafficking Project, I Love You Guys Foundation and school recovery.
