Forest Hill Nature Area had a very successful STEM exploration event with the Michigan Science Center from Detroit. Students and families rotated through engineering, science, design, robotics and bird banding events while exploring science concepts and being introduced to new ideas! All families received free tickets to the Science Center and some nature stickers as well! Thanks Michigan Science Center for a fun day of learning here at Forest Hill Nature Area!

GIRESD was recently awarded a $3000 grant from the Mt. Pleasant Community Foundation for our Dolly Parton Imagination Library initiative. The funding received will cover registration costs for 115 Isabella County children (ages birth to 5 years) for 1 year. Children enrolled in the DPIL program receive a new, age appropriate book in the mail each month. GIRESD thanks the Mt. Pleasant Community Foundation for their support in improving literacy outcomes for our youngest citizens!
As a part of MiSHCA, Josh Boutwell presented at SHAPE MI Physical Education and Health Conference in Lansing today. At the session, they spoke on hot topics in Physical and Health Education and meeting the regional school health coordinators.
