The REMC 5 Maker Roadshow came to Nikkari Elementary School in St. Louis this week. Students were able to try out digital microscopes, programmable robots, engineering challenges, stop motion animation, and green screen photography.

GIRESD REMC Director Joe Trommater spent a day at Ithaca North Elementary School making ornaments and jewelry out of coins. Students hammered, punched, and polished coins, then stamped names on them.

Educators from CGRESD and GIRESD districts just finished an intensive 6-week class with instructor Brian David to prepare them to take the FAA Part 107 Exam to become licensed commercial drone pilots. Passing this test will allow them to use their drones to take pictures for their school website and yearbook, as well as be better prepared to teach students about using drones in various industry applications. Thanks to all those who gave up their evenings to participate, and thanks to the REMC Association of Michigan for funding the training and testing. #REMC
